What's so amazing about Dubai? 

Hey there! It's Hannah Drilon, a Filipino blogger based in Dubai. Writing is my hobby and more than just a hobby, it's also my first love. Posting as a guest blogger is really new to me and I'm thankful for the opportunity to write for ohmyvalentino

DUBAI. When I was told to write something about Dubai, I instantly had many thoughts coming to mind. A lot of positive, negative, the bad and the good and a lot of other things. I was thinking whether to post a list-backed or just a data-backed article and still ended up with the most famous one.. the list type. Of course, I also thought about what the caption would fit the idea. Then I easily thought of  putting up this title not only to capture the eyes of the readers, but to tell them what DUBAI is and what makes this country special.

For the information of many, Dubai is a famous city of the United Arab Emirate (UAE). Being one of the seven emirates of the UAE, many people come to Dubai because it's the most attractive and progressive city of the country. So, what is so amazing in this country is that invites you all to have a taste of it? What is so good about living here? I've been in the UAE for as long as I can remember , and being born and raised in this beautiful country, I think I can show you different aspects of what makes Dubai simply...amazing.

1.Luxurious lifestyle

- For many, Dubai has been a stepping ground for their success. You work hard, earn a lot, get a house, a car, and every single thing you can think of, but that's what Dubai is. If you know how to handle your career and money wisely, you'll always be a step closer to your dreams. Things we can't easily get back home like in the UK, US and my own country, the Philippines..are all here. Nice cars, good looking homes, latest gadgets and all the perks of having a luxurious lifestyle can all be found here, not to mention the tax-free at that.

2.Safety

-Yes! If there's one thing I love more about Dubai, it's the safety. Not only for some but for everyone. Whether you accidentally left your bags,phones or money in the taxi, malls or other places, you can always trust that it will be given back to you. Not only because people are afraid to get caught, but also because everything is provided here. They don't have to take something that isn't theirs,even if it benefits them.

And of course, it's easier to walk down the streets even if you’re alone. Unlike in the Philippines where it's too risky to go out alone ..Here, you'll always have the assurance that you can get back home safe and sound. I remembered once, my mom's friend who was a doctor, who lived in so many other countries even said that Dubai is the safest place he's ever been to!

3. Ladies are Priorities

- It's always a relief knowing that when you're waiting in line, there will be someone telling you to take their place instead. Here, ladies always have a special area in the metro and in the buses as well. It's not stereotyping but I think it's just right to give a little consideration to the ladies out there.Young and old, rich or poor. All ladies, the same.

4. Proficient Defense System

-It is not inevitable that this country could be a target for attacks, danger and destructions ,but because of the high standards of the defense system here, peace and harmony is easily attained in this part of the world. One more thing, it's just good to know that whenever you're in trouble, help comes just at the right time. Policemen are approachable and whenever they see that you've got a problem with your car whether it's a flat tyre or engine overheating, they'll always step in to help you and get you out from the middle of the road.

5.Education

(A good education is the key to success)

-Not to mention the good standards of education everyone gets to have here. Schools/ Universities are pretty much expensive but be guaranteed that it will help you have a good future.A lot of highly accredited schools that are once available only in US, UK or even Australia, well you can have it here in Dubai too.

6.Freedom and Equality for all

-Freedom I think, is one of the most important thing if you want to have a peaceful life. The UAE is indeed a place where all people of different nationalities, culture, religion and background can all come together in perfect unity. Who doesn't want that?

7. Weather that goes extreme

-Extreme heat. I personally don't like the summer season here in Dubai. Temperatures can range from 40 - 50 degrees Celsius  which makes me feel like I'm living in a human size microwave. Whew! Well, UAE is a desert so I think I’ll have to understand why summer is THAT hot.

-The good thing about summer are the festivals being held in Dubai every year. There are lots of fun- filled activities made especially for children to make Dubai feel cooler to stay during their summer break.

For kids, summer in Dubai is surely something worth waiting for!

Another thing that's amazing about the weather here is how it can turn from super hot to super cold with temperatures that can drop down from 17 to 7 degrees Celsius. Amazing eh?

8.Job Opportunities

-Many come to Dubai to work and make money. It's literally a great place to start building your career. Giving your time, effort and utmost performance, trust me.. Dreams do come true.

9.Cleanliness

-Dubai is indeed a wonderful place to live in. Not just because of the things listed above, but also because it’s a clean place to stay. As the saying goes, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.

10.Leisure Time

-Dubai is also a place for fun, adventure and relaxation.

-From skydiving to indoor skiing, windsurfing and a whole lot more!

There are also lots of festivals held in Dubai especially during Eid holidays. Events like the lights & water festival and the shopping festival are held every year during the months that follows after the summer fun.

-And of course, Dubai has a lot of good looking places, enormous malls, grand hotels,world’s tallest building like the Burj Khalifa, elegant resorts, attractions and more. All these, a pleasing scene to the eye. Be ready to book your flight and plan a visit in this fantastic country!

In Dubai, everything is given. Money, material things, splendor..EVERYTHING in short. If we all take a second thought, we’ll realize that these things are not what really matters. What matters most is the time we give to our families,the effort we do to make other people happy. And unless we appreciate everything that is given to us, big or small, we will never see the worth of everything. 

Contentment is the key to happiness. Real happiness that money cannot buy.
